PPT747. From the 1920’s is a line of glass from Pairpoint that was listed as “Tavern” or also referred to as “Potato” glass. The original line featured only tumblers and were sold to taverns, hence the name. Potato refers to the process of making the bubbled glass. A potato would be added to the glass mixture and as it burned off it would produce the desired bubbles. Later they expanded the line to include other shapes. This particular shape is a cordial and features the Galleon decoration. 3 ¾” tall.

GUN738. Gundersen Pairpoint perfume bottle featuring a controlled bubble bottle with a matching stopper of a bird with a long swooping tail. Made in the early 1950’s. It has a fitted and polished stopper and is very fragile. Consequently, these are hard to find with the stopper intact. This one has a very minute chip to the beak of the bird. It is barely visible with the naked eye, but can be felt with your fingertip. I’ve tried to show the chip as best I can. 11 ½” tall.

A clear stem and foot completes this compote. 8" diameter, 4 1/2" tall.
